On Tuesday, March 19, the 49ͼcommunity will come together to do their part to support students during .

This year’s Giving Day celebrates the launch of the "Doing Our Part" campaign that is raising funds to invest in and expand UNE’s core strengths, including medical and health education, new academic programs, scientific research, and access to a world-class 49ͼeducation.

“When we all do our part on Giving Day, we help 49ͼstudents do their part in the classroom and beyond,” said Alicia Fereday, MBA, vice president of Institutional Advancement.

Each year, members of the 49ͼcommunity come forward to offer additional incentives to encourage giving on or before Giving Day. This year, they are as follows:

  • If you are making your first gift ever — or in a really long time — your donation will be matched 100%.
  • When alumni, faculty, professional staff, and students from the College of Arts and Sciences make a gift, Dean Jonathan Millen, Ph.D., will lead a group of Nor’easters into the Saco River off of Freddy Beach for a chilly plunge on March 22. He invites any and all to join him.

For all members of the 49ͼcommunity, there is no better day to make a gift to support the 49ͼexperience than Tuesday, March 19.
